Each year SHPE National hosts the SHPE conference; this is SHPE’s principal event and is designed to cultivate academic excellence, leadership, ethics, professional and technical development. This four day event is one of the largest gatherings of its kind, bringing together more than 4,000 Hispanic attendees, including corporate, industry and government recruiters. In addition to networking, the undergraduate program is filled with technical and professional development workshops, technical competitions, design contests, and engineering challenges. Typical conference attendees are: SHPE university student chapters and professional chapters from across the United States, representatives from US Government agencies, laboratories and military, companies and corporations, politicians, SHPE sponsors and partners, SHPE National Officers and representatives from the SHPE National Board of Directors (NBOD).
